 Daily religious practices performed at the temple complex enables devotees to enhance their spiritual experience upon their visit. Also, on around every temple there is a economic side of things, where nearby residents selling temple offering, accommodation and, food are benefited just like any tourist place. But, unlike tourist spots, Temple has additional dimension of being Alive entity of Culture, Art and Traditions.

In ancient times, people used to get land & cows from temple to do farming, and most of the produce is sold back to temple for feeding millions daily in temple kitchen. Therefore, more the temples institutes are empowered better is for all the dependents.

All the religious yatra happening across the nation are testament to flow of capital - human, financial, cultural from one place to another in short period of time and at scale. Whether it is the Kanwar yatra, Narmada parikrama, Puri Rath Yatra, Char Dham yatra, Hemkund Sahib yatra, Jain teerth Yatra, Vaishno devi Yatra, Girnar parikrama Yarta, all of them are not is intended to be religious sentiment but acts as a huge economic catalyst. Current Aspect to Look At -

  1. Increase adoption of tech in temple operations and management - this will enable seamless & transparent functioning of daily ops. Provide view and access to all trustee members real-time.
     

  2. Improving temple accessibility & experience for devotees - virtually & in-person : unlocking online-darshan, Aarti, donation, visit booking, festive notifications etc.
     

  3. Support & empower Temple Pujaris - For the temples which are non trust-managed , there is a need for securing lifestyles of Temple Pujari , who is essential for smooth functioning and continuity of Rituals. Lifestyle security includes : better accommodation, healthcare access, children marriage and educations, empowering to traditional temple practices, and Enabling support in succession planning and knowledge transfer. this documentary of state Pujaris in Delhi will help understand better.
     

  4. Discoverability of Temple - there are billions of temples for billions of people in India and world, small, big and huge one. But, still in pure tech-age we don’t have access to central discovery platform to find nearby temples, learn about its history, practices followed, timings, donations mode, how to reach, events. Google tries to do that, but their has to be some sort of standardize onboarding to present at scale, what online ordering apps have done to all food joints in the world is to solve for discoverability and enabling access and conversion.
     

  5. Access & understanding of learnings from spiritual leaders - Pravachan & Kathas : Indian civilization is very rich in its depth religious & spiritual content. We as a civilization preferred to pass on knowledge in verbal form via Pravachan and Kathas. There is a huge mass which connect and learns from periodic Pravachans and Kathas happening across. And in last few year broadcasting channel have helped increase its reach even further. But still every Pravachan & Kath might now fit all based on their religious sentiments and learning interest, therefore their is need to curating the Pravachan and Katha content and delivering it in personalized feeds whether Live or, recorded.
     

  6. Reimaging content distribution of Religious & Spiritual texts - currently being in age of fast pace internet and mobile being preferred content consumption medium over books and, laptop. All the religious and spiritual content needs to created to be engaging and, bit-sized at top of the funnel which will enable interested reader to deep dive into long form format original scriptures and texts.
